Lavender blooming is one of the most iconic natural spectacles of Provence. In the Luberon, colors evolve from June to August, creating unique landscapes depending on altitude, weather conditions, and lavender varieties.
Main Blooming Periods
⭐️Early June – First Colors
The first fields start turning blue in the lower areas (300–400 m). Colors are still soft, perfect for peaceful visits and gentle photography.
⭐️Mid‑June to Early July – Intensification
Fields turn deep purple. The Luberon plateaus become spectacular, especially around Bonnieux, Lacoste, and Gordes.
⭐️Early to Mid‑July – Peak Bloom
This is the most impressive period: intense colors, strong fragrances, and breathtaking landscapes.
⭐️Late July – Start of Harvest
Lower areas are harvested first. Higher plateaus remain in bloom a little longer.
⭐️Early August – End of Season
Most fields are harvested. A few late plots remain in higher areas.
