Mas de la Baou is located in Céreste, a charming village in the heart of the Luberon Regional Park. Perfectly situated between Apt and Forcalquier, it is the ideal base to explore famous hilltop villages like Gordes, Bonnieux, and Lacoste.
Yes, the Mas is surrounded by oaks and lavender fields, far from the noise of main roads. It is a haven of peace designed for travelers seeking tranquility, nature, and authenticity in rural Provence.
You can enjoy hiking and cycling directly from the property. Nearby attractions include the stunning Gorges d’Oppedette, local Provencal markets, and the famous lavender fields (blooming in June and July).
We offer three independent self-catering cottages: L’Étable, La Fenière, and La Bastide. Each gîte is fully equipped, combining traditional Provencal charm with modern comfort, and features a private outdoor area to enjoy the peace of the countryside.
- Currently we have various payment methods available such as: Bank card - Cash - Bank transfer.
Any cancellation must be made by mail or email to the owner.
a) cancellation before arrival:
- The deposit is kept by the owner.
- If the cancellation occurs less than 30 days before the scheduled date of occupancy, the owner keeps the total amount of the rental.
- If the renter does not arrive within 24 hours following the arrival date indicated in the agreement, the present agreement becomes null and void, and the owner may dispose of his accommodation.
b) if the stay is cut short, the owner keeps the amount of the rental without any refunding.
Cancellation by the owner
- The owner refunds to the renter all sums paid, plus an indemnity equal to 50% of the rental cost.
- The landlord is obligated to provide a lease agreement. You have the right to demand one if they fail to do so. This lease agreement is the legally binding document that protects all parties in the event of a dispute.
- The reservation becomes effective when the guest has sent to the owner a deposit of 25% of the total price of the stay within 5 days.
- This payment implies full acceptance of this present terms and conditions of booking. The rental may in no case benefit to any third parties.
The balance of the rental has to be paid one month before arrival.
- Unfortunately, these old buildings are not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
- You can invite friends during your stay, during the day, provided you agree in advance with the owners. However, access to the swimming pool is strictly reserved for the persons listed on the rental agreement.
- Mas de La Baou does not host parties or weddings. The tranquility of the grounds must be respected. Several estates in the surrounding area offer venues for festive events.
- Children are welcome. Babies under 2 years old are not included in the maximum number of people. Baby equipment (travel cot, high chair, etc.) is available free of charge upon request.
Our natural ecological pool is a chemical-free oasis. The water is naturally filtered by aquatic plants, offering a soft and pure swimming experience that is gentle on the skin and environmentally friendly. It's a unique sustainable feature in the Luberon area.
- The gate providing access to the swimming pool is secure. Inside the enclosure, children are under the responsibility and supervision of their parents.
- The owners live on the ground floor of the large building and are available to answer any questions and advise you during your stay.
- Self check-in is available from 4 PM (access code provided in advance).
- Check-out is before 10 AM.
- Underfloor heating throughout, with a geothermal heat pump.
- Air cooler in the La Fenière cottage.
- Fan in the other cottages.
- Wooden shutters in all rooms, to be closed during the hottest hours and opened during the coolest hours.
The thick stone walls do the rest!
- No, the final cleaning is included. The tenant is responsible for cleaning the cottage during the rental period and before departure.
- A compost bin is available on the property. Packaging and other waste should be placed in the municipal recycling bins opposite the entrance gate. Glass should be taken to the parking lot behind the school.
- No, bed linen (sheets) and towels (3 per person) will be provided.
- We do not serve meals nor breakfast. You will find food shops in the village, a few minutes away from home (supermarket, butcher's shop, bakeries, restaurants, etc.)
Each gite has its own fully equipped kitchen.
- There is a shared electric barbecue, freely accessible.
- You can enter and park your vehicle on the property.
- In Céreste, there is a bike rental (electric or classic) on the main street.
- We do not have a terminal on the property, but there are 2 in the village, 8 minutes walk from our house.
