Lavender
Among the 3.5 ha of farm land, 2.5 ha (the part between the farmhouse and the village) are devoted to lavender.
Each year in July, the field takes a nice blue tint. In August, the harvest of the flowers takes place; they are distilled to extract the essential oil of lavender, whose virtues are well-known of aromatherapists and perfumers.
However, it is necessary, every 8 to 10 years, to renew the plantation: the lavender feet grow old and become less productive. It should also be used to let the land rest, by sowing with a different plant.
That's why, in 2019, the color of our field changes! A pink forage (sainfoin) temporarily replaces lavender.
It will come back soon!
